DISTRIBUTION

A distribution board is a component of an electricity supply system that divides the power feed into subsidiary circuits. Therefore, this provides a protective fuse or circuit breaker for each circuit.

Consequently, every distribution board features MCB protection. A Miniature Circuit Breaker is a device designed to protect an electric circuit from over-current. In this case, an electrical fault caused by either an overload or short circuit.

With few exceptions, our boards incorporate RCD or RCBO protection. An RCD is a safety device that switches off electricity automatically if there is a fault. Providing an RCBO is suitable where there is the need to combine protection against over-currents (overload and short-circuit) and protection against earth leakage currents.

The difference between the two is that an RCD usually provides additional protection for each circuit. The RCD will disconnect the power to the circuit in the event of a fault. An RCBO provides the job of a circuit breaker and an RCD in one switch. Therefore, in the event of a fault, the RCBO will disconnect the power to the individual circuit.

Our distribution boards range from 16A 240V plugboards to a 125V 400V flight case.
